Senior Field Service Technician

About This Role

As a Senior Field Service Technician at Techs on Standby, you'll lead nationwide technology deployments with military precision. You'll execute complex infrastructure installations across multiple sites while maintaining zero-downtime standards for our government, healthcare, and enterprise clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage multi-location network cabling and equipment deployments
• Conduct site assessments and provide detailed technical documentation
• Travel 50-75% to client sites nationwide
• Mentor and train junior technicians on best practices
• Ensure all installations meet BICSI, TIA, and client-specific standards
• Coordinate with project managers and client stakeholders
• Troubleshoot complex network and cabling issues on-site
• Maintain accurate project records and as-built documentation

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in structured cabling and network infrastructure
• BICSI Installer 2 or RCDD certification preferred
• Experience with Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6a, fiber optics (SM/MM), and coaxial installations
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively
• Strong leadership skills and ability to manage small teams
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in various physical conditions
• Background check required for government and healthcare clients

Preferred Qualifications

• Military veteran with honorable discharge
• OSHA 10/30 certification
• Experience with FISMA, HIPAA, or NERC CIP compliance environments
• Fiber optic splicing and OTDR testing experience
• Project management experience
